Wood and Glass studio 2004-2005,
Helsinki University of Technology

Within the framework of the "Wood and Glass studio" course held at Helsinki University of Technology in 2004-2005 a pavilion based on a design by Teemu Seppänen and Antti Lehto was built.

I participated in the studio and was involved in the 3D modeling of the pavilion. The shell’s irregular shape makes each triangular building block unique, therefore the drawings of the different parts could not be done by using conventional CAD methods. I thus created a program (script) for the Rhinoceros 3D software that calculates the geometry and generates drawings of the individual building components.

On my web page I describe the process from the 3D modeling phase until the actual fabrication of building components.
